ALEI is glad to welcome Mr. Rich Kolm as a part-time project coordinator at ALEI at the UMB School of Law campus. Mr. Kolm will fill a vital role offering administrative support to the effective implementation of ongoing grant-funded projects focused on increasing farmer participation in supplemental nutrition benefit programs and understanding Maryland specific local food procurement practices. He brings to the position over 16 years of experience building and operating small-scale sustainable farms in Baltimore City, community-based food access work, and grant administration skills. He also has led peer-to-peer educational programming for veterans in Baltimore City, and worked during the COVID-19 pandemic to manage a program growing and distributing seedlings for city residents to transplant into their homes and community gardens. Kolm will work directly with Margaret Todd, Senior Legal Specialist for ALEI at UMB: “I am excited to bring Rich on board. I know his experience and talents will be an amazing contribution to work we’re doing at ALEI, and I trust that he will help us to achieve the overall vision and impact for the projects.”
