Biography

Shakisha Morgan, Esq. is a learner, strategist, and
connector with a heart to serve individuals and families on the road to financial freedom. She
is the Principal Attorney of The Morgan Firm, LLC – a company committed to ensuring
economic mobility and access to wealth from generation to generation. Shakisha is also the Founder
of The Legacy Counselor – an educational platform dedicated to increasing awareness of and
access to generational wealth. As an attorney, wife, and mother, Shakisha is on a mission to see
more financially secure individuals, families, and communities who engage meaningfully and
knowledgeably with each other about
building generational wealth. She recently released a podcast for Financial Literacy Month called,
“Estate Ready with The Legacy Counselor” where she shares tips and strategies on passing wealth to
our families and communities using estate planning.

Shakisha is a proud graduate of Prince George’s County, Maryland Public Schools, Stanford
University, and Georgetown Law. For over a decade, Shakisha has devoted herself to
increasing access to Black generational wealth through her work conducting community & corporate
workshops, delivering guest lectures and keynotes, and providing transformative advice to her
clients. She is a published author on topics related to estate planning,
multigenerational wealth building, Black wealth, and servant leadership. Shakisha’s work has
appeared in multiple outlets including the National Bar Association, Maryland State Bar
Association; Maryland Bar Journal; the Worcester Women’s Leadership Conference; the Association of
Black Estate Planning Professionals, and local faith-based organizations and news media across the
state of Maryland.

Shakisha is a faithful servant leader and steward board member at Kingdom Fellowship AME, a mentor,
philanthropist, and co-host of the Mary & Martha Podcast. She has also been a featured guest on the
widely popular Gettin’ Grown podcast. Shakisha is a dedicated board member of The Young, Black &
Giving Back Institute and was honored as a “Top Forty under 40” for service to the Prince George’s
County, Maryland community. Shakisha is the proud daughter of Jamaican immigrants and
entrepreneurs, a sister, wife, and mother to a phenomenal toddler. She loves to hike and laugh at
offensively loud volumes, and her
life has been saved multiple times over by her relationships with Black women.
