Biography
Elizabeth was born and raised in Fort Collins, Colorado. Elizabeth moved to Maryland to attend the University
of Maryland (UMD), graduating cum laude with a BS in Agribusiness and a minor in Geographic Information
Sciences in the spring of 2021. During Elizabeth’s Undergraduate Career, she served as a Pathways Intern with
the USDA Agriculture Research Services at the National Agriculture Library in Beltsville during the summer of
2019. Additionally, she served as the Chair of AGNR’s Dean Student Advisory Council, where she connected
AGNR students to the College’s resources while providing student feedback to the College’s leadership.
Since 2019, Elizabeth has been working as an undergraduate research assistant in the Department of Agriculture
and Resource Economics (AREC). Her work included analyzing reclaimed water policy with the CONSERVE
team and conducting initial research on farm succession modeling for Maryland farms. In July of 2021,
Elizabeth transitioned to the position of Faculty Specialist in AREC. Since joining AREC and ALEI, Elizabeth
has begun to examine state trespass laws nationally and investigate solar development in Maryland. Moving
forward, Elizabeth hopes to incorporate her studies of geography to expand the outreach of ALEI through
spatial analysis and incorporation of interactive web maps.
In addition, Elizabeth is working towards a Masters at UMD in Geographical Information Sciences. Elizabeth
will also continue to play the string bass in the University of Maryland’s Repertoire Orchestra. Elizabeth enjoys
